Now That's Fish - n - Chips

So today we took a bus from Dublin to Galway, buses here are not built for six foot four guys, my knees hit the back of the seat the whole way there. Galway is a little bit bigger than I think we both suspected, we could probably do everything in Galway in a day. There is a river here in the center of town, talk about current....damn!

I had some great Fish -n- Chips tonight, it was in a bar across the street from the hotel we are staying at, the music in Dublin was definitely better than this place, but the food here was awesome. My fish just fell apart and melted in my mouth and the fries were crispy on the outside but warm and soft inside. I think Sara's a bad influence because I had two Jameson and Coke's at dinner, it's becoming a regular thing.

Sara randomly started talking to some people in the pub. They are just learning English, I believe they were Swiss. I had a hard time understanding them, the whole conversation took me a bit out of my comfort zone but is probably good practice for Spain...

Tomorrow we are going to Inis More, we will be sure to take a lot of photos. I'm sure it's going to be great.

Me greatly enjoying my dinner.

My last few bites.

  1. Jeremy pretty much covered the day. We rode a bus to Galway, the current in the river here is incredibly strong. We already hit all of the major sites. It's a really cute town but it is much more touristy than I had anticipated.

Dinner was yummy. I did be-friend some Swiss folks that are in Galway for the next 9 weeks learning English. They're both in their 50's and want to travel in their retirement and since English is a universal language they're on step one of their travel plan. Jeremy was especially quiet during this conversation :) He will have lots to learn about communication once we're in Spain (yay).

My only real comment for the day is that it is especially odd for me being in a country with different customs that is clearly European but without the language barrier, I keep forgetting how easy it is to ask about customs, directions etc...it's kind of nice yet alarming all at once. Which is probably why I was so eager to talk to our new Swiss friends (Karl and Rosa) I needed a dose of my standard travel communication challenges....
