Cotton Country

Driving through Mississippi we realized the large bales weren't hay but were cotton! There were hundreds in the fields.

Some of the fields hadn't been harvested yet, as Mom is demonstrating. I've been seeing various fields all week but for some reason these cotton fields seemed more vast than the others, maybe because they're so low to the ground. I find it a bit overwhelming.
