The flight to Venice went from plenty of seats to oversold on 20 minutes, we don't know why. There were four paying passengers who didn't get on. There was nothing else to anywhere in Italy and April 3-6 are blackout dates, we had to leave or be stuck! Even going home was oversold so we were scrambling, Edinburgh was the best/only option.
We decided rather than see Edinburgh without a plan that we'll try to pick up our old plan. So after an hour (and 8£) of research at the Internet cafe we are off. We're going to Milan at 1:15, from there a train into town to pick up a speed train to Venice.
We should arrive at our hotel around 10pm, after being up for 40 hours without real sleep. Mom's asking for whisky shots :) from the sample stand.
We had cancelled the Venice hotel so we're hoping the still have our room. Wish us luck....
I'm glad you made it somewhere in Europe and out of nasty JFK. Good luck with the continued travels to Italy. Good thing you had to add those few extra days at the end of the trip. Now you can add a few extra cities to your travel list. Now you have to completely revamp the schedule on the blog.
ReplyDeleteDon't give Mom too much whiskey, we saw what happened last time when she started smoking twigs.
Oh my goodness! Well you guys are off to an adventurous start. Keep going with the flow and your trip will be awesome no matter where you end up! :)
