Dinner at Jamon 10

Today was busy. We had breakfast at a little bakery that was amazingly cheap friendly and quite tasty. Chris had a cafe con leche and Sara had a really tasty verde te de mente.

From there we went to Museo de Prado and saw all sorts of famous works. Sara was most excited about those by Francisco de Goya. We weren't allowed to take pictures but they were amazing. Unfortunately since we aren't art efficianados we probably skipped over some great masterpieces and didn't fully appreciate half of what we saw.

After the Prado we hit Plaza Mayor and had lunch at a little Iraqi place (see previous post) which was great. Then we took a Siesta.

After our siesta we made our way to a little spot called "Jamon 10" for tapas (appetizers), but we ended up staying for what became dinner. We stopped by last night for tapas and made friends with Mar, one of the owners. She spoke some engish and was very friendly and made several recommendations for places where Sara could eat vegetarian while Chris could still have meat, so we went back again tonight.

We sat at the bar and talked with Mar and ate our jamon and queso sandwiches while drinking our red wine. As time slipped away we continued to order some more wine and a few more sandwiches. Mar also gave us a few glasses of wine and a tomate tapas on the house. We toasted along with a friend of Mars' and all had a good time. Before long a few hours had passed, our tummies were full and it was time to call it a night.
While we've greatly enjoyed our Tour de Espana (and Italia) we are tired and miss our bed. We have decided to head home a day early so we can sleep, catch up on life and recuperate from our trip. So tonight we pack and tomorrow we head back to Madrid's Bajas Airport for a flight to JFK and then on to MCO, hopefully first class all the way (whish us luck!).
For those of you in the States, please don't call or contact us until Wednesday, pretend like we are still abroad on Tuesday, we need to sleep a lot and catch up on life, that is the whole point of heading home a day early. :)

PS - Mom, we'll be by for our cat Monday night :)
