Texas 200 - Day 4

Today was our last day of the Texas 200. If we has stuck to the
group's schedule we would have one more day to go, but Jay and I
decided to combine the last two legs into one day. We left the bay at
5:30 am (first to leave again) this morning and planned to cover about
65 miles today. This turned into a 17 hour day as we finally found the
boat ramp around 9:30 pm - in the dark. It was a very long day and not
a very good sail. It was very hot and the wind was light all day
allowing us only about 3 mph of boat speed on average. We did see many
porpoise and even a crocodile (see photo). The sunset was beautiful
over Magnolia Beach as we surfed down waves in Corpus Cristi Bay. Even
though it was a long day we were happy to get to the end.

Our trip overall was fun while we were sailing and hanging out
together, however the lack of any organization and the sorry
destinations each night don't encurage us to do the cruse again next
year. We hope you've enjoyed following or crazy adventure up the Texas
coast for the last week and enjoyed the pictures.
