Plaza de EspaƱa is mostly famous from being used in Star Wars but we learned it was created in 1929 for the World's Fair. This got me thinking about all if the other cool landmarks we can thank Worlds Fairs for, Seattle Space Needle, Carousel of Progress, St Louis Arch etc. Whatever happened to the World's Fair? I shall have to look into this matter soon.
While at the Plaza we discovered a variety of books in the shelves surrounding the plaza like a sort if free book trade. We enjoyed pursuing the selection and opted for a comic book.
We spent the afternoon reading in the adjacent park before bravely finding a new random spot for lunch.
When everyone else opted for siesta Jeremy and I got ice cream and sat by the Eiffel Bridge to sketch and make use of the travel watercolor set Jeremy bought for my birthday.
Tonight? Flamenco!!!
